New blog, new reason

hey kids,
i decided to change my blog site to www.blogger.com because i am going to need to post pictures regularly, and myspace only allows you to have 14 pics up at a time, and some folks have said that they can't see the pictures until they are a member of myspace. for some of you this means nothing :) regardless, i'm now using blogger instead.

SO, it's been a busy few days. on sunday, we had all day free after our service in the morning, and so melissa, natalie (our other teammate), and two boys going to china--chris and sam--decided to go down to hollywood and then to the santa monica pier. we had a LOT of fun. we saw LOTS of strange folks. we were LOTS of miles away from pasadena. we ended up walking probably 7 miles just to get to the right places b/c the bus system in LA is a bit questionable as far as being on time goes. we had to walk back from the train station in pasadena at 11:00pm b/c the buses quit running at 10:00pm--supposedly. we think they quit running at 9:00pm. we were never lost, just far far away from home. we were hoping that we wouldn't have to spend a bazillion dollars on a cab, and we never had to do so. it was really fun. we decided that it wouldn't have been any fun doing all of it alone, but all together it was hysterical. you know you alway run into interesting folks while using public transportation. i'm still waiting on some pictures from chris. as soon as i get them i'll post them. there's a story to go with each one :)

we're leaving thursday morning at 2:50am--that's right, AM. EARLY. our flight doesn't leave until 7:10am, and we're flying to JFK in NYC, and then to Casablanca--about a 7 hour flight. Then we'll fly to Fes where we'll be for the month. Time's ticking down! Our China friends are leaving tonight, and we're sad. They've become good friends in a short time, and we'll miss them. Hopefully we'll keep in touch this summer to share stories.

okay, last thing about this blog: you have to become a member to post comments--if you want to post comments. they don't send you any emails or bother you in any way. i've been a member for a while, and haven't been hassled at all. it's a pretty sweet deal :)

love you guys! i'll write again soon!

ps: the picture is of our new friends--Natalie, Chris, Sam, and me. Melissa was taking the picture. We were waiting for the Metro to come get us.
