i went to the funeral of a former student's mom yesterday. it was a sad situation as she had had cancer for most of this year, i think. we (the teachers) only found out about it after christmas. a couple of Anderson parents emailed me when she passed away late last week. the little girl was pretty upset (understandably so), and i've been praying for her this past week. she is 10 years old so she'll have a lot of growing up without her momma. it's a terrible, terrible thing.
you know that music is not often far from my mind, and during the funeral there were several songs played that were some of the mom's favorites. it made me start thinking about what songs i would want to have played at my funeral. here's the list i came up with:
1) Crumbs from Your Table OR Stay (Far Away, So Close)-U2
2) I'll Fly Away-Alfred E. Brumley
3) Come Thou Fount-Robert Robinson
4) Please Forgive Me-David Gray (i'd like to be wheeled out to this while you guys are all exiting the church)
what song(s) would you like to have played at your funeral? yes, this is an odd question, but it's a fun thing to think about a kind of gross sitch :]
