well, kids, we've arrived! it was a long, long trip with lots and lots of moving the luggage around by ourselves (european men aren't like those good ol' southern boys we've been around). we had an overnight stay in paris b/f heading to north africa, and that was a good thing. it gave us a bit of time to acclimate to the time change and get some rest for the next day. when we arrived there were LOTS of folks there to help us. we got to meet betsy and tina (love them!) and brian and aaron (friends from last summer) came to help us get our bags to the apartment. the boys knew where the apartment was so it was nice that they came to help us at the airport instead of just meeting us at our new home.
and now for a few words about our new home: rediculously awesome. blessing. can't believe we get to live there. i'm calling it versailles. it's beautiful. we haven't taken any pictures yet, but i'll get around to it soon enough. i can't get over how lovely it is. we both can't quit commenting to ourselves about how lucky and blessed we are to be staying there. we're at ed's using his internet even though he's not here :] our internet/landline won't be ready for a while.
we start language learning on august sixth, and are saying lots of *thinks* about it. it would be so helpful to know the language so we can communicate with those we meet in the stores, the taxis, etc. i know it will come, but i can definitely see why knowing french fluently would be a big help. oh well. it couldn't be helped, and i know it will just make us study all the harder so we can know arabic sooner. we have two other teachers coming next week, and they'll begin classes with us. we're excited about them being here. they're both from the dallas/waco area so we'll have that in common as well.
thank you for all of the thinks you thought! we could both tell that we were being thought of a lot! there were a couple of mix-ups, last minute changes, etc. in the traveling that were straightened out with not much work on our part, and we both know that it's because you were thinking hard :] thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
i'm going to go figure out how to use vonage now so i can talk to my parents. . .i haven't called them since we've been here. it'll probably be a few days b/f i can get to the internet again, but i'll post as soon as it's available. hopefully, i'll have some pics by then. love you guys!

oh darling sister, i'm glad you're safe. ellie and i are sitting here watching cmt comedy reading your blog. she says hello by the way and from her newly monogrammed bag i'll have you know. we miss you. glad your apt is rad-i-cal. i think i'm going to start bringing back all 80's lingo. i'll keep you posted as to how that's going. peace out.
